As the score indicates, there's really not a lot to criticize here. Somehow, the Jackals have managed to avoid every trap in the BLF landscape. That's not supposed to be possible. When I made the rules for the BLF, the plan was for every team to get penalized. One of the rules was literally created for the sole purpose of penalizing a team that might otherwise not earn any penalties. But this logo, which is new this year, even managed to avoid that one. To penalize this team I would have to make up something. Not only am I opposed to doing that (some days I like to at least pretend to be taking this site seriously), I'm not even able to come up with anything that isn't hopelessly contrived.

I've said before that earning no penalties is not necessarily a good thing: logos that earn few penalties run the risk of being bland. This one doesn't. The jackal looks fierce — and if you can forgive the coloring, you have to admit it looks a lot like a jackal. The fangs, which often wind up looking silly, work here. Same for the pupil-less eyes. Most of the times that effect looks goofy. Here, it works on two levels: you can see why they chose not to put pupils in the logo (there'd be no way to make them look right), and it really does make the logo look much scarier. The logo doesn't quite manage to earn the "Cool-Logo" bonus, but it is a good logo nonetheless.

Unfortunately, that means I have very little to say. I've been working to avoid the really short reviews, but this time I have no choice. Whoever designed this logo did a great job of avoiding anything gratuitous. Perhaps the best way I can honor that is to do the same.
